Give It to Me

Lisbon's Salphunk returns to Universo Positivo with a dazzling new disco package while newly emerging talent Ultradisco Society steps up with a remix. Salphunk is a fast-rising artist who has already made his mark on this label with two previous outings. First came his 'Live On' EP last October, then in March he followed it up with 'How Do You Like It' and now he shows more subtle evolution in his latest offering. It once again speaks of a lifelong love of Disco and comes packed with great musicianship as well as fine studio craft.
First up is 'Give It To Me' (Single Mix), which is a deep and late-night sound with warm keys infusing the mix and tropical percussion bringing the heat next to sultry vocal stabs. It's got an emotive synth solo and is perfect for sundown sessions with its mid-tempo grooves and classy vibes. Then the ‘Club Mix’ has bigger drums, funky bass and bright trumpets all taking things to the next level. This version is a lush symphony of sound with baritone vocals and lavish strings, making for a truly sophisticated feel. Ultradisco Society is a new name making a debut on Universo Positivo, but with more to come on the label soon. His wonderful remix is a 13-minute odyssey with undulating disco drums and sci-fi melodies, buttery vocals and plenty of funky licks that keep the good times flowing in real style. An instrumental closes down the package in epic escapist fashion. This is another irresistibly fresh dose of modern disco from Salphunk on his home label Universo Positivo.
