One Good Day

Coming thick and fast from the Universo Positivo camp comes the Afro vibrations of ‘One Good Day’ by Dutch-Portuguese act MDA Grooves. Universo Positivo was launched just this year, a project that runs between Lisbon and Amsterdam with Joseph Salvador at the helm. The label has a bulging arsenal of dangerous weapons set to drop over the coming months, so watch this space. MDA Grooves is an act off of the original Amsterdam based TINK! Records from which the new imprint has springboarded. MDA Grooves have had previous releases and collaborations with the incredible Rio de Janeiro born Brazilian singer, Lilian Vieira, and the afro beats sounds of Ghanaian High Life artist ‘Sloopy’ Mike Gyamfi. MDA Grooves lovingly embraces a myriad of cultures, fusing the spicey and colourful atmosphere of Brazilian Batucada, sexy Samba, some serious Afro disco and Afro beats, with classic house basslines. Drum machines, samplers, synths are all skilfully blended with live instrumentation of high energetic percussion, lively drums, rousing horns, and tribal rhythms to form the unique sound of MDA Grooves. ‘One Good Day’ is a track full of joyous and danceable rhythm that celebrates the true power of inclusiveness and togetherness. There are four versions of this highly infectious cut, opening with the powerful driving beat of the original, the ‘Afro Mix’ takes the tempo down a notch while upping the tension on the dancefloor and is sure to keep nimble dancers locked in. There’s an extended length to make the love last longer, while label family, Orlando Voorn's retouch of ‘One Good Day’ brings darkness to the proceedings, fashioning it into a late-night basement beauty.
