Lisbon's SALPHUNK returns to Universo Positivo with a bright nu-disco single that comes with four different mixes. SALPHUNK is a relatively new name in the scene with two releases in a short space of time. He dropped his last EP, Live On, here back in October and often works with local musicians to cook up his unique grooves. They blend authentic early instrumental disco vibes with modern production touches that result in a timeless and irresistible style.
First up is 'How Do You Like It' (Single Mix) which is a deep cut and slow motion workout with elastic bass and dazzling melodies. Funky guitar riffs keep the groove moving next to steamy vocals and plenty of smart samples which means it overflows with character.
The ‘Dub Vocal’ is more raw and edgy with silky arps and numbing drum fills that bring texture and intensity. Next up, the ‘Munich Mix’ is another brilliant twist on the original. It is big, bold, dubby disco with an epic breakdown and big horn energy that will get hands in the air. Last of all, the 'Dub Instrumental' is a dense disco chugger with flashes of vivid synths that cut through the drums while a percolating bassline keeps you on your toes.
